In this chapter of Acts, Paul goes to Jerusalem. In the previous chapter Paul is warned a number of times not to go. In fact Paul is told by the Holy Spirit that he will go to prison if he goes to Jerusalem. However, he goes nevertheless. He knows that God is guiding him to go regardless of the consequences.
This made me think, if I knew that I was going into a dangerous situation would I go? Paul knew that he had to go, he knew the voice of the Shepherd. So often we forget the voice of the Shepherd when we have difficult situations to go through.
Jesus never said it would be easy. He never promised a bed of roses. He promised that there would be times of persecution, where families would be split, where we would be brought before the temple etc... We need to realise that when hard times come, that God is with us. When we are weak then He is strong.
